About the Personal Data Protection Unit

The Personal Data Protection (PDP) unit operates under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (MODEE). One of its primary objective is to strengthen the positioning of the kingdom in the field of Personal Data Protection aligning with the international standards. The PDP unit governed by the PDP Council, which plays vital role in creating an extensive system for safeguarding personal data through formulating legislation, instruction, and guidelines related to data protection.

The unit is handling personal information, investigation reports and complaints received to the unit, related to violation of the personal data protection law, and monitoring compliance with the provision of the law, and the regulation and instructions issued in accordance with the law.
