The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship launched the project “AI Raising Awareness for Public Employees” in collaboration with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB). The project aims to empower public sector employees to utilize artificial intelligence applications, contributing to the development of government performance and increasing operational efficiency.

The project aims to train 3,000 government employees from 100 government institutions this year, targeting three main categories: leaders and senior management, employees at all levels, and specialized technical training. The launch of this project is part of the implementation of the Jordan’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy, launched by the Ministry in October 2022, which aims to train and enhance the capabilities of 15,000 government employees in artificial intelligence by the end of 2027.

During the project launch, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Eng. Sami Al-Sumirat, emphasized the pivotal role of artificial intelligence in improving government performance through fostering innovation and adopting advanced technologies. He explained that this directly contributes to improving the quality of services provided to citizens and enhancing the efficiency and flexibility of government work. He also stressed the importance of raising awareness among public sector employees about the diverse applications of this technology and highlighted the need to invest in developing employees' skills in this field to enhance government institutions' readiness to face future challenges and achieve sustainable development.

For his part, Al-Batran confirmed the role of the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB) in the field of future technologies, noting that the center was selected to implement this project due to its expertise in technological fields over the past years, especially its specialized and high-quality experience in artificial intelligence, which promotes innovation, future foresight, and the development of national human capacities. In line with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship’s project to raise awareness and enhance the capabilities of public sector employees in artificial intelligence, the center has provided specialized trainers in the field of artificial intelligence, along with advanced training facilities.

It is worth noting that the training courses are held at the "Cyber Shield" Academy, affiliated with the Jordan Design and Development Bureau (JODDB), which specializes in providing training programs in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and encryption. The Minister also toured the academy to review the training progress and inspect the advanced facilities available for participants.
