Jordan is making steady strides in its readiness for artificial intelligence! In 2021, Jordan ranked 80th out of 160 countries on the Oxford Government AI Readiness Index. And in 2022, Jordan's index rose to 63rd out of 181 countries! In 2023, Jordan has progressed significantly, moving up to to the 55th position out of 193 countries.
These advancements reflect Jordan's commitment to embracing technology and artificial intelligence, evident in the government's approval of the Jordanian AI policy for 2020, the formulation of the AI National Strategy and Implementation Plan 2023-2027, and the development of The National AI code of ethics!
The "Government AI Readiness Index" issued by Oxford Insights is a report that evaluates the readiness of governments worldwide to adopt intelligent technologies. The report encompasses three main pillars: Government, Technology Sector, and Data & Infrastructure, incorporating 39 indicators across 10 dimensions. It is based on various criteria, such as government policies related to artificial intelligence and the strategies implemented in this field. This classification proves valuable for assessing governments' capability to assimilate and embrace artificial intelligence technology. The report includes the participation of 193 countries globally and relies on 39 indicators until the latest release in 2023.
