The Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ministry holds an introductory workshop on the ISO/IEC 42001 quality standard related to artificial intelligence.
Today, Wednesday, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Al-Hanandeh inaugurated a workshop on the ISO/IEC 42001 quality standard for artificial intelligence management systems, with the presence of over 80 participants interested in the field of artificial intelligence from various sectors, including representatives from both the public and private sectors, researchers, academics, and representatives from chambers of commerce and industry, among others.
The workshop aims to introduce participants to the concept of the ISO 42001 standard, its importance, and to explain the requirements and best practices for its implementation. It aims to enable participants to understand how to use the ISO 42001 standard to improve the management of artificial intelligence systems in their organizations. This initiative stems from the role of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship in raising awareness about artificial intelligence and its keenness to keep relevant parties informed of the latest developments in this field.
During the workshop’s opening, Al-Hanandeh emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence as one of the most important drivers of change in the modern age. He pointed out that the ministry attaches great importance to developing this field and enhancing its use in various sectors as an effective tool to improve the management of artificial intelligence systems, making them safer, more reliable, and more efficient. He recommended participants to raise awareness about the ISO 42001 standard and encourage their institutions to apply it, which will contribute to the development of the field of artificial intelligence in the kingdom.
