The Ministry of Digital Economy Participates in “GITEX Global 2025” to Showcase Jordan’s Experience in Artificial Intelligence
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), is participating in GITEX Global 2025, held in Dubai from October 13 to 17, through a special booth dedicated to the JAIES Project (Jordan AI Ecosystem). The participation aims to showcase the outcomes of the project’s implemented initiatives and highlight Jordan’s experience in developing a comprehensive and sustainable national artificial intelligence ecosystem, positioning the country as a regional hub for emerging technologies and digital entrepreneurship.
The JAIES Project is being implemented under a technical cooperation agreement between the Ministry and JICA, aiming to build a sustainable national AI ecosystem in Jordan. The project focuses on strengthening collaboration among the public and private sectors and academic institutions while supporting innovation in priority national economic sectors.
The JAIES booth features several pilot projects developed in collaboration with partners from the public and private sectors and academia, including EqraTech, Tarjama, GrowTech, Algebra Intelligence , and Al-Hussein Technical University. These entities have contributed to developing innovative AI-driven solutions across various critical sectors.
In recent phases, the project has implemented a number of AI pilot applications in the energy, agriculture, and government services sectors. These include developing models for electrical load forecasting and improving energy efficiency, cleansing and enhancing the quality of government data, predicting soil properties and determining optimal irrigation timing, and designing an intelligent assistant system for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority capable of understanding and responding to inquiries in both Arabic and English in the fields of investment and tourism.
The project is supervised by a team of distinguished Jordanian academics, in cooperation with partners from both the public and private sectors. In its upcoming phase, it plans to expand its scope to include new projects that respond to national priorities and further support Jordan’s transition toward a knowledge- and innovation-based digital economy.
