The second phase of the Minecraft Education Exhibition, held under the theme “Building Classrooms,” concluded under the patronage of His Highness Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the Jordan Esports Federation.
The closing ceremony was attended by Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Samir, and Minister of Education and Human Resources Development Prof. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah.
The exhibition was held as part of the Youth, Technology and Jobs (YTJ) Project of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development, and implemented by Mais Al Ward Company. The initiative aims to enhance the use of interactive digital tools in education and develop students’ creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
The exhibition featured the final projects of 16 outstanding teams, selected through clear, systematic, and competitive criteria from among the submissions of 2,000 students from public schools across the Kingdom.
The second phase builds on efforts to expand the use of Minecraft Education in schools. It included training 210 new teachers from the fields of digital skills, mathematics, Arabic, English, science, and social studies, in addition to digital skills supervisors. Teachers with expertise from the first phase also participated in transferring knowledge and experience and supporting the newly trained teachers.
Minister Samir emphasized that the second phase represents an expansion in the use of digital and interactive educational tools in public schools by training teachers from multiple disciplines and enabling them to adopt modern methodologies that present academic concepts in more interactive ways aligned with students’ interests.
He noted that the project focuses on building teachers’ capacities and enabling them to practically integrate technology into the educational environment, enhancing students’ learning experiences and contributing to the development of their creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
For his part, Minister Mahafzah said that the projects presented by students demonstrate their ability to transform educational concepts into interactive experiences and practical applications using Minecraft Education, noting that this approach provides students with greater opportunities to learn through experimentation, participation, and creativity.
Mahafzah added that the second phase showcased a diverse range of educational topics and concepts, reflecting the impact of the training received by teachers and their ability to use the platform to design interactive learning experiences that support the educational process.
During the event, His Highness Prince Omar, along with Ministers Samir and Mahafzah, reviewed the participating final projects and listened to students explain their project ideas, implementation methods, and the educational concepts they addressed through Minecraft Education.
At the conclusion of the event, His Highness honored the teams that won the top three places, as well as the participating students and teachers, in recognition of their efforts and the projects they presented during the second phase.
