Al-Zoubi Inspects Irbid Tech Center, Confirms Building Safety and Work Progress
Irbid – Samira Al-Zoubi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, inspected today the construction site of the “Al-Mansah” Tech Center at the Irbid Central Travel Complex. The visit aimed to review the progress of the project and ensure the safety of the building, following the circulation of inaccurate information regarding a supposed collapse at the site.
During the visit, Al-Zoubi confirmed that reports of any structural collapse in the building were false. She clarified that the ongoing work consists of maintenance, preparation, and rehabilitation carried out by the ministry in preparation for the center’s launch, and that the scenes circulating online reflect the nature of these works rather than any structural risk.
She emphasized that the ministry is directly and continuously monitoring the project’s implementation, in cooperation and coordination with Greater Irbid Municipality and other relevant authorities, who are supervising the technical and regulatory aspects of the site. This ensures adherence to safety and quality standards and the completion of works according to the planned timeline.
Al-Zoubi noted that the establishment of the center is part of the ministry’s plan to expand tech centers across the kingdom’s governorates. This aims to enhance social and geographic equity in access to digital training and qualification opportunities and to empower youth with the skills needed for the labor market.
She added that these centers build upon the successes of the Al-Mansah Technology Center – Marka, which has proven effective as a national model in providing a modern training environment that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital skills development. The ministry is working to replicate and develop this model in several governorates to serve the largest possible segment of youth.
During the tour, Al-Zoubi received a briefing from the project team on the implementation stages, completed works, and operational plans, affirming the ministry’s commitment to accelerating the pace of work in preparation for the center’s launch and its service to the residents of Irbid and surrounding areas.
