Norvia Tech Semiconductors Opens New Branch in Amman

Amman – Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Samirat inaugurated a new branch of Norvia Tech Semiconductors at Abdali Boulevard, in a step reflecting the growing interest of specialized technology companies in investing and expanding in Jordan and supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to build an advanced national semiconductor sector.

The opening of the branch comes as part of national efforts to strengthen Jordan’s position within the global semiconductor value and supply chains by developing an integrated ecosystem that brings together specialized talent, education and training, and a supportive legislative and investment environment, enhancing the Kingdom’s ability to attract high-quality investments to the sector.

The Subcommittee for Semiconductors, established under the National Council for Future Technology, which was established under Royal directives and is chaired by the Prime Minister under the direct supervision of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, coordinates national efforts in this field by aligning the work of ministries, universities, and the public and private sectors within an integrated action plan.

In this context, specialized academic programs in semiconductors have been introduced at a number of Jordanian universities, with the first cohort of students admitted this month. Work is also underway to develop sector-specific incentives and align legislative and customs frameworks to support the growth of the semiconductor industry and attract specialized global companies.

Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Eng. Sami Samirat said that Jordan is working to build an integrated ecosystem that positions the Kingdom as a competitive destination for high-quality investments in the semiconductor sector. He emphasized that investment in this sector is not limited to attracting companies, but is also linked to building national capabilities, developing specialized talent, and creating the necessary legislative and investment environment for their growth.

Samirat added: “We view the semiconductor sector as one of the strategic sectors through which Jordan can move into more advanced positions within global value chains, building on a strong base of talent in the technology sector and a national ecosystem working in an integrated manner to develop skills, academic programs, incentives, and the legislative environment. Norvia Tech’s opening of its branch in Jordan reflects growing confidence in the Kingdom’s ability to host and expand the operations of specialized technology companies and represents another step toward building a Jordanian sector capable of competing globally.”

For his part, Norvia Tech Director Bassam Abdel Dayem said: “The opening of our engineering center in Amman represents an important milestone for both the company and Jordan. We are not simply building an engineering center; we are establishing an ecosystem that brings together Jordanian talent, global expertise, and innovation to develop technologies capable of competing and reaching global markets. With its outstanding engineering and technology talent, Jordan represents a strategic base for developing advanced engineering solutions serving the global infrastructure of data centers and artificial intelligence, while providing Jordanian engineers with opportunities to work on international projects and gain global experience.”

Jordan’s approach in this field is supported by a growing information and communications technology sector comprising more than 2,000 companies and nearly 50,000 specialists. In addition, graduates of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines account for approximately 22 percent of total university graduates. Jordan’s location also provides access to key markets through free trade agreements, in accordance with applicable rules of origin.

The Jordan Source Program, the national investment attraction program at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, serves as the point of contact for technology companies seeking to establish or expand their operations in the Kingdom. It connects companies with available talent and opportunities and facilitates registration, licensing, and recruitment procedures, as well as access to investment incentives.

Norvia Tech’s Amman branch will begin operations during the current month, adding to the growing base of specialized technology companies that have chosen Jordan as a platform for their operations and growth in the region.
